I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO WRITE THIS POST. I'M ACTUALLY LOSING MY MIND.
OKAY.
SO.
today dad was catering one of those really fancy parties again at the Katz estate and he asked if i wanted to come help because they needed extra hands. mostly i just carried trays around and helped with baking and washing things. nothing exciting.
OR SO I THOUGHT.
dad asked me to move this tray of cookies onto one of the counters while everyone else was busy. easy. simple. i'm literally just carrying cookies. then... someone goes,
"Those look good."
I ALMOST DROPPED THE ENTIRE TRAY. (╥﹏╥)
i looked up.
AND IT WAS CLOVER.
YES.
THAT CLOVER. I'M FINALLY SAYING HER NAME. because i physically cannot keep calling her "my crush" anymore after TODAY.
she was standing in the kitchen doorway. just leaning against it like she had absolutely nowhere important to be. which i'm pretty sure she DID because everyone was dressed up for the gala. she had this really pretty dark red dress on. i don't know how to describe it properly. she looked… really nice.
... ANYWAY.
i panicked. obviously.
i think i said,
"I-I d-don't think you're supposed to be in here..."
WHICH IS THE MOST BORING THING I COULD HAVE POSSIBLY SAID. WHY DID I SAY THAT. WHY.
she looked at me for a second. then smiled. not a huge smile. more like… the kind where you know someone's about to tease you. then she shrugged and said,
"I am."
i just stared. then she added,
"So now what?"
...
WHAT DO YOU EVEN SAY TO THAT???
i think i just made some tiny confused noise. i genuinely don't remember. (￣▽￣;)
then she walked closer. like… really close. close enough that i could smell her perfume. and she looked at the cookies. then back at me.
"You're awfully nervous."
I WAS.
VERY.
OBSVIOUSLY.
i tried saying,
"I-I'm not..."
and immediately stuttered. which definitely proved her point. she laughed. NOT IN A MEAN WAY.just… like she thought it was funny. then she tilted her head a little and went,
"You're cute."

...
WHAT.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT POSSESSED HER TO SAY THAT.
I THINK MY BRAIN TURNED OFF. I'M PRETTY SURE I STOPPED BREATHING FOR A SECOND.
i remember looking anywhere except at her because i was so embarrassed. she noticed. WHICH MADE IT WORSE.
then she leaned in a little more- NOT A LOT. JUST ENOUGH. and smiled again.
"Careful. Wouldn't want you dropping those."
...
I WAS HOLDING THE TRAY SO TIGHT MY HANDS HURT.

then someone called her name from somewhere outside. she sighed dramatically. looked toward the hallway. then back at me.
"Duty calls."
she started walking away. then stopped. turned around. and said,
"Maybe I'll see you around."
AND THEN SHE JUST LEFT.
SHE JUST… LEFT. LIKE THAT. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN??? DOES IT MEAN ANYTHING??? AM I READING TOO MUCH INTO IT??? SHE WAS PROBABLY JUST BEING NICE. RIGHT???

i don't know. i'm smiling like an idiot though.
